Zovirax® - (Acyclovir cream)

Zovirax® (Acyclovir cream) is used to treat herpes simplex viral infections of the skin.
Treating the symptoms of the first episode of genital herpes and limited non-life-threatening herpes simplex viral infections of the skin, lips, and genitals in patients with weakened immune systems.
Zovirax ointment is a purine nucleoside analogue. It works by stopping the virus from multiplying.
Acyclovir cream is an antiviral. It works by stopping viral replication. However, acyclovir cream does not eliminate the herpes virus, it is not a cure, and it does not prevent transmission to others.
May also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

This generic medication goes by the name Acivir under the Cipla brand.
